Derrick Turner was born in California, USA.

 He started cheerleading when he was 16 under Jeff McQueen at California Allstars and for his high school at Hemet High. He placed 2nd at UCA Nationals with California Allstars and won his first national title with his High School at USA Nationals in 2001. He then cheered for Palomar Junior College under Tim Passalacqua where they won the Junior College Division at UCA Nationals in 2002. While he was attending Palomar he was also coaching teams at California Allstar. From there he got a scholarship to cheer at the University of Louisville under James Speed.He also cheered for GYMTYME open co-ed. He won 3 National titles with Louisville at NCA College Nationals and 4 with GYMTYME at NCA Allstar Nationals. While he was attending Louisville he was also coaching at GYMTYME.

From the years 2000 to 2003 he taught summer camps all over the west coast for JAMZ. From 2003 to 2006 he taught speed camps for Spirit Sports. Altogether he has been coaching cheerleading for 8 years and is an accredited Level 5 coach.

In 2002 he helped Tony Gonzales with the "Bring It On Again" movie.

In 2006 he then moved to Japan to work for Universal Studios in a cheerleading stunt show.

In 2007 he then moved to Australia to open his own gym and help introduce cheerleading to Australia.

In 2009 he competed with team USA at the ICU world Championships and won the gold medal.

Along with co- founder Kassandra Brown he now owns East Coast Allstars which was founded in the Spring of 2007.


KASSANDRA BROWN

Kassandra Brown was born in Newcastle, Australia.

She started swimming when she was 6 years old. When she was 8 she decided to get into it competitively so she went to her first ever State Championships and came 6th. From there she went on to win approximately 70 Country and State Swimming medals, 2 Age National Swimming medals, 1 World Trials swimming medal and 2 National Cross Country Running Medals.

Kassi started dancing when she was 10 years old at Physical Funk under Tina Perry. She started teaching dance there when she was 15 as a junior assistant and eventually worked her way up to be a full time senior Dance Teacher. She danced there for 8 years.

In 2006 she moved to Japan to work for Universal Studios in a Water Stunt show called Waterworld. It was there that she met Derrick and he introduced her to cheerleading.

Kassi is a Level 2 cheer coach.

In 2007 she moved back to Australia to start her own cheer gym with Derrick. ECA was founded in the Spring of 2007.
